J _ * Sf.cIioh . it enacted bt the Ьё^ате^л^о House of Representatives of the United States of America, in Congress assembled, That inrefpeft to ftills employed indiftill- ing fpirits from materials of the growth and produce of the United States, at any other plac e than a city, town, br village, or at any diftillery in city, town, or village, at which there are one or more ftills, which fing- ly, iflfmly one, or together, if more than one^tre of lefs capacity than f<^ju| hundred gallons, the option and alternative of paying a duty of feveti cents, for every gallon demits divided in fuch Hills, as fecured and al¬ lowedly the firft fedtion of the aft, intituled, “ An ad concerning the duties onfpirits diftilled within the Unite. And be it further enacted, That in lieu of the option and alternative aforefaid, the proprietor or poflelTor of any fuch Hill or ftills, as above mentioned, (hall, and may, after the firft day of July enfuing, be charged with, and {hall pay the following duties, to wit : — Fora licence, for the em¬ ployment of each and every fuch ftill, for and during the term of two w«^cs, fix cents per gallon, according to the capacity or content of every fuch Hill, including the head thereof ; — for a licence, for and during the term of one month, ten cents per gallon, as aforefaid ; — for a licence, for and during the term of two months, eighteen cents per gallon, as aforefaid ; — for a licence, for and during the term of three months, twenty-four cents per gallon, as aforefaid for a licence, for and during the term of four months, thirty cents per gallon, as aforefaid ; — for a licence, for alid during the term of five months, thirty-fix cents per gallon, as aforefaid; and for a licence, for and during the term of fix months, forty- two cents per gallon, as aforefaid. Section III.
