The Pennsylvania Guardsman
The Pennsylvania Guardsman was a monthly, quarterly, or weekly newspaper published by the Commonwealth in Harrisburg for service members and other interested parties of the Pennsylvania National Guard, under the Department of Military Affairs. The first publication run of the journal was published privately from 1897 to 1928 by Charles Hendler as Our State Army and Navy magazine. Volume 32 in 1929 commences the publication run as The Pennsylvania Guardsman, which lasted until 1975. The newspaper contains rosters and biographical sketches of officers, as well as information for practicing soldiers.
